How government manages its real property assets is a concern taking on more prominence today. Canada is the second-largest country in landmass in the world and covers an area of 10 million square kilometers. All public lands, whether federal or provincial, are referred to as Crown Lands and are owned by Her Majesty. While the majority of these Crown Lands are within the jurisdiction of the provinces and territories, the federal government is the largest single landlord in the country.
