IMPLEMENTING SMART CITY VISIONS: SUSTAINABLE FUNDING AND DEVELOPMENT MODELS FROM THE US

Building on the momentum of the U.S. Department of Transport Smart City Challenge, this PSD Webinar focusd on how cities can move from the ideation phase of a Smart City plan to implementation. Local governments have limited financial resources to experiment with Smart City projects, requiring innovative partnerships and knowledge of proven funding models to get initiatives off the ground.

Our expert webinar panelists discussed how to develop funding and development models for smart transportation infrastructure projects in which federal and state grants are supplemented by strategic partnerships with businesses and non-profits. Panelists also discussed the role of autonomous vehicles and ride-sharing services to augment city fleets, reduce congestion and carbon foot prints, and provide service accessibility to under-serviced neighborhoods and communities. Participants will be equipped with the latest intelligence and best practices, as well as knowledge of state, federal and private sector funding strategies to turn Smart City concepts into reality.
